amy + jonathan… the wedding!

You could feel the energy in the air! The kind of nervous excitement that is alive and flows threw the day when to people are dedicating themselves to each other in the name of love. There is no doubt that Amy and Jonathan are incredibly happy and in love! You can see it in a subtle glance, a smile, a laugh, and hear it in the vows they said to each other. Kyle and I were so excited to capture this wonderful day celebrating the love that Amy and Jonathan share!

Amy spent the morning getting ready surrounded by her girlfriends and her family. Amongst all the chaos she was relaxed and calm, “excited” she said to see Jonathan at the end of the aisle. She sat patiently as her hair and makeup got touched up, smiling at her mom and sisters and talked about how the day was finally here. As the moment got closer and Amy was about to walk down and become Jonathans Bride her smile grew and you could feel her excitement.

The day was a prefect celebration of the love of two people! The ceremony was beautiful and the reception was a party! People danced, toasted, laughed and raised their glasses in cheers to the life Amy and Jonathan are starting together! Amy and Jonathan… Kyle and I were honored to be part of this amazing time in your life, we are so excited to see all the great things in store for you both! We wish you all the luck in the world and can’t wait to meet your newest addition, Bentley the bulldog!

Amy Jackson - These pictures are amazing and they make me so happy everytime I look at them! You both did an amazing job and I wouldn’t have wanted anyone else to capture this special day for us! Thank you for the kind words before the pictures above… I had a tear reading such thoughtful words from you guys!

amy + jonathan wedding… photobooth!

The best part about a photobooth, is how much fun and expression they add to a reception! Kyle and I recently added a photobooth as something we offer in our packages and we are so glad we did! It’s a great way to capture the party and the fabulous time the guests are having at the reception, and always makes for great photos for the bride and groom to have of their guests afterwards! Here are a few of our favorites from Amy + Jonathan’s wedding! The wedding was amazing, and the reception was a true celebration of two people in love!

a drop of… beloved indeed…

We’re so excited for our good friend Ashely who has just launched her custom stationary + invitations business, Beloved Indeed! Not only are we lucky and able to count her as such a great friend but she is an amazing graphic designer with an eye for all things girlie and chic! It has been so exciting to watch the process from come from an idea to reality!

Ashley’s designs are innovative, fun and fresh! She has a keen eye and can translate the look and feel of her design into an great reflection of your style. We cannot wait to see all the amazing things she will create, and are so proud of our dear friend!

sneak peek erin + joey… polaroid edition!

Today was a great day… fun lunch catching up with a great friend, lots of works done and I have had this all day giddy feeling that comes from the love of our new Fuji Film Polaroid camera! I am so stoked to have a Polaroid back I feel like shouting it from the rooftops! I have always loved Polaroid film, its instant, gives me an excuse to shake it (“like a Polaroid picture”) and it has an immediate feeling of something vintage and timeless. I could shoot all day with it and it would never get old.

Saturday afternoon Kyle and I made a little trek to Cal’s Camera and were like kids in a candy store buying all sorts of great film for some old vintage cameras we have! I was super excited to break out the polaroid for Erin and Joeys engagement session we shot on Sunday! Not only are they an amazing couple with great style but they have that vintage flair that is perfect for some polaroid actions. new family camera…

A few weeks ago Allison went home to Seattle to hang out with her parents.. While I wished more than anything that I could have been there with them I stayed here in California. One day as Allison and her dad were cleaning out a closet they came across this.. his old Zeiss Ikoflex!

We love old cameras… it always makes me wonder where they have been and what photos they have taken. As this camera, from around 1940-50, was given to Allison’s dad from his dad, he thought that it would be a great to keep it in the family and give it to us. We are so stoked that he has given this to us!! I learned photography on film originally, even on large and medium format, so this camera will get some great use and we can not wait to use it.. We just got some 120 film and make sure to keep a look out for our first shots with the new family camera… and a big Thank You to Allison’s dad, Ross!! Cheers!!
