Kyle and I are big fans of the Nike Plus running system, it tracks your running, allows you to set goals and when you have run your fastest mile, Lance Armstrong comes on majestically and lets you know, “Congratulations, that is your fastest mile yet,” it’s fabulous! A couple of nights ago, Kyle and I were out for a run and I got tired, I mean one foot in front of the other took to much effort… TIRED!
Kyle the ever-supporting runner gave me the little push, “Just to Main Street we can do it,” OK I told myself if I make it to Main Street then I will stop. Trying to distract myself I started to think about all our Studio 28 goals for 2010 and suddenly I passed a light, one more block I told myself, then I passed another block.
As I was running I gave myself little markers, just get to that bench, almost to the fire hydrant, and suddenly we were passing Main Street!! It got me thinking about goals, how the big ones can seem awfully intimidating and the thought creeps into my head how am I ever going to get there? Last night I realized how, one foot in front of the other, one block at a time, with Kyle by my side telling me we can do it!!
