Sometimes I wonder about fate… I wonder what would have happened if my friend Elsa wouldn’t have gotten a job in LA. I wonder what if I didn’t get a job in Huntington. I wonder if I hadn’t seen roomates.com on the sidebar of apartmentsforrent.com and thought to myself, ”why not give it a try. ” You see I was living in Hawaii, had just graduated college and was starting a job in the OC in less than two week and had no place to live on “The Mainland” as I referred to it back then. Realizing I time was running out I signed up for roomates.com thinking right now any lead is a good lead.
A few days pass and a email pops up in my Inbox “Hey I think I might have what your looking for give me a call, Thanks Kyle.” For some reason I was nervous about calling this guy in California so I casually responded “Umm because of the time difference, why don’t you call me, Thanks Allison.” So a few days later we set up a time and he called and we chatted for the first time. It was easy, the kind of conversation you can have that takes no effort. So I told him I would be in town on Friday and would come down to check the place out. Thursday night, a big swell hits Hawaii. Friday, stay and surf. Saturday, stay and surf. Sunday, surf as late as possible and get on the red eye to LA. Monday, call Kyle and ask if I can see the place and if its still available. It was… so I went to check it out and the moment I met Kyle we clicked.
Almost 6 years later the boy who opened the door to my first home in California opened my heart even more. Kyle you are my best friend, I could not have asked for more in a husband. Our life together is more than I imagined I could have and I cannot wait to see what the future holds! So thank you for keeping that room available when I was 4 days late to see it and thank you for becoming the place I call home!
Heres a little walk down memory lane!! Enjoy…
