Sharon and Kim’s wedding day continued at the Kyoto Grand Hotel in downtown LA. Under the warm California sun these two stood in front of friends and family and said I do…to forever, to each other, to sharing a life together! The reception was filled with lots of dancing and fun but the most memorable moment was when Kim sang a song he had composed to Sharon about his love for her and their new life together! It was such a beautiful moment there was hardly a dry eye at the reception! We headed over to the Disney Concert Hall for some portraits and had an amazing time reliving the events of the day! Sharon and Kim thank you so much for allowing us to be apart of this time in your live we cna’t wait to see what the future holds for you both!

It was an early morning…around 7 am when we arrived at Sharons parents house, and the wedding day was in full swing. Hair and makeup was already underway, kids were scurring threw the house and in the midst of it Sharon sat quietly in her childhood room as she prepared for the day ahead of her. With her sisters and her family all around, their was an excited energy, one that only a wedding day can bring! Sharon and Kim had both a traditional blessing and tea ceremony as well ceremony and reception. Here is part one of Sharon and Kim’s wedding day! Can’t wait to show you the rest!

Today Chloe and I went to the beach, I threw her stick in the ocean and she ran threw the (small) waves and retrieved it, tail wagging a giant smile on her face (yes I think I know when she’s smiling)! She does it with such ease now I almost forget that it took Chloe 4 YEARS to even put a paw in the ocean! After many failed attempts of trying to get her to like the water, throwing her in, coaxing her out with a treat, carrying her in, Kyle and I had all but given up, and accepted the fact that Chloe was not going to be a water dog.

Until one evening last summer, Kyle threw her stick in the shallow part of the waves and without even skipping a beat she ran in and got it. Needless to say Kyle and I were amazed, was the water warm, does she have a special love for this particular stick, we could not figure it out, but time after time she ran out and got that stick. To this day she loves the beach and yes still loves the water. It made me think, now that the confetti has been cleaned up, chamy has been drank, and new years and those lofty resolutions that were made are a few weeks off, am I running after what I want or am I stalling and allowing time to pass on something I could love because I’m afraid. I admit on some areas I’m running and others my feet are still firmly planted on the sand. The challenge to chase after what I want in all areas.. wet feet and all!

jordan + wes…engaged

It rained the day we were supposed to shoot Wes and Jordan’s engagement session… not wanting to reschedule the day of we decided to take a chance and see if it would hold off… it was one of those risks you take and in the end you are so happy you did! We met up at Crystal Cove and had an amazing time geting to know these two and hear a little bit about their story.

Wes asked Jordan to be his wife on the beaches of Mexico while on a fun get away with friends, after she said yes they celebrated their new life together into the night. We cannot wait for their wedding this April! If it is anything like their engagement session it will be filled with lots of love and fun from two amazing people… and maybe a movie quote or two!

2011…. engaged + lifestyle favs!

2011 was an amazing year for Kyle and I. While we were celebrating the holidays we took the time to look back in 2011 before we made our goals for 2012. As we looked threw the photos we took, and the peoples lives we got to be a small part of we feel incredibly blessed! Here are some of our favorite engagement and lifestyle sessions of 2011. ponte winery wedding… josh + nikki!

It was a day that started 13 years ago… Josh was getting on a bus headed to a high school baseball game and noticed a girl named Nikki heading to her softball game. A relationship started, they went to prom, graduated high-school, off to college, traveled, moved to a new city and threw it all remained at each others sides. Just shy of their 13th year together Nikki and Josh stood before their closest family and friends to say “I do!”

They got married at the Ponte Winery, tucked away in Temecula, it was the perfect setting, intimate and full of personal touches that told the story of Nikki and Josh! The moment Nikki slipped into her wedding dress a huge smile spread across her face as she exclaimed “oohh my I’m getting married…!” As she walked towards Josh and taped him on the shoulder for their first look.. His smile said it all… the girl on the bus was now his stunning bride.

With the sun setting behind the vineyard behind them they said “I Do” and as a part of their ceremony sealed a bottle of wine with memories and wishes to be opened on their 10 year anniversary. Nikki and Josh we wish you lots of love and happiness, and when you open that bottle in ten years toast to a wonderful past and an amazing future together!
